Beachy Garden

Thanks to a generous grant, Beachy is proud to feature several types of garden beds that include:
  • Native plants, such as milkweed, sage, and other local species from the Thomas Payne Foundation nursery in nearby Sun Valley
  • A traditional "Three Sisters Garden" of corn, squash and bean plants
  • Marigolds, nasturtium, calendula, and other annual flowersflower bed

PURPOSE

Students learn about the different plants growing in the garden from season to season. They learn how to take care of the plants, and enjoy the reward of growing food from seed to table.  An outdoor space encourages a hands-on connection to the natural world, experience agriculture firsthand, and inspire children to be stewards of our community's local habitat.
